It’s a moment that can inspire you.
I heard 1 minute of ESPN today and it was Brian Kelly, the new head coach of Notre Dame football who was asked the question, “What do you mean when you say ‘work on winning by giving up losing’?”
Wow… what a great saying!
Give up losing means:
- No more snacking at 10pm
- No more “I’ll get to it”
- No more follow the loser
- No more “I can’t”
- No more “why me?”
- No more time wasters — Internet, TV, trashy novels, etc…
- No more giving up
- No more… No more…
- You know exactly what you need “no more” of…
Work on Winning
- Focus on details
- What can you do right now?
- Take action
- Change bad habits by stopping right in the middle of them
- Add great habits by following through with them
- Eat great
- Work out
- Feel great
- Do the little things
- Say “I love you” three times today
- Say it once to the mirror
- Call two people about your business
- Learn more
- Get disciplined
- Organize
- Follow instructions
- Do it… you know what to do… do it…
Winning doesn’t happen on game day. It happens in the details. If you see the person at the top of your business on stage making a great speech, it’s not because they are a great speaker… it’s because they “gave up losing” long ago.
The next 6 months will come and go no matter what you do…
Give up losing for these next 6 months. Work on winning.
See you at the top!

Tom,
I am involved in a leadership program with Landmark Education and you hit the nail on the head concerning winning and losing because it all starts in the mind. You need to get on the court and get out of your head. What will people think? etc, etc
Thanks
